Ecuplein
Ecuplein is a square in Amsterdam where I live when I am not at work or doing other things. I moved to Amsterdam in November of 1999 after having lived in Zwanenburg for many years. The Ecuplein is located in de Aker in Amsterdam Osdorp, which is one of the districts within the city of Amsterdam. Most of this area of Amsterdam is relatively new and a lot of new houses have been built in the last couple of years.

Zorro
In April 1998 I decided to buy an apartment in a new apartment building called Zorro. The Zorro apartment building consists of 65 apartments and 2 penthouses. The building is 18 storeys high and I am living on the fifth floor on the sunny side of the building, looking over the Ecuplein. The first floor consists of a single apartment, the entrance to the building and a gallery of pillars with large windows. The next 16 floors consist of 4 apartments per floor that can be reached by one of the two elevators. The top floor of the building consists of two large penthouses with a spectacular view.

The View
The view from my house and most of the apartments in this building is very good. On one side of the building we can look at all the activity that is going on at the Schiphol Airport, which is located a couple of kilometers from Amsterdam Osdorp. It's great to see the aircraft arrive and leave from Schiphol, without having any noise pollution. If I look the other way, I see an old windmill that is still fully operational and is called 'De Molen van Sloten'.
